Las Fallas de Valencia is a typical festival of the Valencian community. The origin of Las Fallas dates back to the tradition of the carpenters of the city burning excess shavings and old junk on a purifying bonfire on the eve of the day of the patron Saint José. The junk is cleaned from their workshops before the start of Spring. Nowadays this festival has been recognised as a fiesta of International Tourist Interest.
